Karen Language

There are approximately 20 different Karen languages/dialects, many of which are not mutually intelligible. The largest of the Karen dialects is Sgaw Karen, which some Karen who speak other dialects can understand. Karen is a tonal language. The meaning of a word will change depending on which tone is used.
